What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Set up initial meeting (Phone/In-person) to discover what skills he/she needs to improve. This can include the Parent(s) and student.


What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Former High School, Jr. College, Division I and Semi-Pro player. 15 years HS & Middle School coach in Nevada, Arizona, Kansas and Michigan. Semi-Pro assistant coach & Scout. Currently Youth Basketball Camp Director for Garden of Dreams Youth Basketball Camps at First Congregational Church in Battle Creek, MI. 


Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I basically charge a flat rate of $50 per hour. I expect the student to train for the complete duration with the possibility of adjustments as required and agreed upon prior to the session(s).    


How did you get started teaching?

My coaching/training career began with my first head coaching position at Reno High School in Reno, Nevada where I played for the University of Nevada.


What types of students have you worked with?

I have trained/Coached youth from the age of 5 to 18 over my career as a player and coach.


What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Always show up prepared to work hard and gain knowledge from your instructor......ask questions when you aren't sure.


What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Be able to define your own weaknesses and have the will and desire to improve your skills related to basketball.Sh
