About

My service is not meant to make you break the bank. I’m not going to charge you like the facilities will to work with a trainer because I know what it’s like as a player going to lessons. You know your parents are paying money and if you continue to struggle, all parties get upset. It’s too much pressure. I’m here to make you the best player you can be and prepare you for success on the field.

We work hard in our lessons so you can trust your training when it comes to game time and then you just have fun while you play. You can’t be thinking about fundamentals and everything a coach says while you play. You just have to react and trust that all the hard work you have put it will follow.

The thing I enjoy the most about working with young ball players is the excitement and joy that show after doing something they couldn’t before. Seeing a smile on a kid that just got a hit is what it’s all about. The older guys, helping them prepare for success on the field and hopefully them getting looks by college.

Simply helping a kid get to where they want to be is what makes me happy. If it’s the next level or moving up a team or even just making varsity baseball and they don’t care about college. Whatever that individual athlete wants to accomplish is what I want to accomplish with them. We’re a team when we get into this.

Mike has a great attitude towards kids and adults. Mike has a passion for baseball and it shows in his instruction! He is a student of the game- he understands that not all swings are the same. As a parent of a college athlete (baseball) I can only say thanks for your help Mike

Coach Mike is very knowledgeable, and understands what it takes to get to the next level. He also uses a hands on approach to help players have a deeper understanding of what he is trying to teach.

    Frequently asked questions

Put them through basic drills without instruction to see what they do and what they know. I find out what they know by asking them questions. Younger kids, I may ask the parents what the kids have been taught. Older kids, I’ll ask what their current coaches are teaching and try to use that when I explain things. A lot of the problem is how coaches explain or the wording of how to do something. I’ll find out other sports they play so I can try and relate it to them in different ways for them to understand.

I have a Bachelor’s degree from Madonna University in Sports Management.

Played three years at Macomb Community College due to injury when led to my career ending there.

Been coaching for 5 years. I have mainly coached ages 13-18.

Currently the Assistant director of baseball operations for the Detroit Trailblazers travel baseball program along with being the head coach for the 16U team.

Currently the Head JV Baseball Coach at Novi High School.

Played Varsity baseball at Novi for three years

Right out of college. Was honestly thrown into a 13U head coach position without any coaching experience. The organization did the sink or swim method with me and we did well and won a tournament with a team that probably shouldn’t have. I knew as a senior in high school I’d be a coach some day because I took pride in helping develop the younger guys coming through the program and wanted them to be better.

Ages 13-18 mainly. Never been asked to work with younger but open to any age. I mainly teach hitting, outfield and a little infield. Infield mainly for the younger guys. Hitting and outfield for all levels and basic throwing form.

Every coach/teacher is going to tell you something different in your life. All the levels you play, you’re going to learn or heard something different from what a previous coach said. You have to find out what works best for you. You also want a coach that makes the game fun and actually cares about you like I will. Communication is the biggest thing. If you don’t understand something I say, don’t say, “yea coach, i understand.” Explain to me what you don’t understand and I’ll figure out a different way to explain it to you. They’re are people out there that would treat this a extra money and that’s all you are. With me, you’re way more than that. You’re a young ball player looking to get better and I’m going to do the best I can to prepare you for success on the field.

What do you struggle with during games? Certain pitches? Locations? Is it mental? Do you fear things while you play or do you trust your training and just have fun? Most coaches can see what you struggle with but at the end of the day, what do you want to accomplish. You have to have a plan for success in anything you do in life. On or off the field. You gotta have a plan of execution. I’m here to help with that.
