I am an advanced pianist and former band director. I teach lessons online or in the comfort of your home in the greater Kalamazoo area. I have been teaching private piano and band instrument lessons for over 30 years. I have a bachelor's in music education from Western Michigan University. I have been teaching over 40 students a week for the past 30 years, so I have a very high level of experience and can teach all ages 6 - 100.

I provide student-centered instruction, meaning I tailor the learning experience to your individual needs and interests. If you prefer not to use a traditional lesson book, I can adapt the instruction to suit your preferences. Additionally, I offer structured and sequential lessons that are flexible and customized to you. For example, if you're an adult joining a band and would rather focus solely on your music, that's entirely possible! Likewise, if you have a 6-year-old child and prefer a structured curriculum, that can be arranged as well.
