About
I was a college Art Professor for Aquinas College for 26 years teaching Basic Drawing, Anatomy and Life Drawing, and Painting. I have been teaching workshops and tutoring since 1975. I have an extensive resume that attest to my credibility as an artist which can be viewed on my website at www.larryblovits.com. I have written a drawing book for North Light (No Experence Necessary; sketching and drawing), and "Pastel for the Serious Beginner" for Watson-Guptill.
I love to teach, and see the student progress. In my own artwork, it is both an ongoing challenge to constantly improve and reach the next level; and compelling to see what I can create. In teaching, I champion the basic fundamentals of drawing (value, volume, depth (perspective) and color, - and the design fundamentals. This is the solid foundation for every competent work of art, and is crucial for the student to master.
