Speech Conversations
About
I am a certified Speech and Language Pathologist, as well as a certified Special Education teacher, with a 30 year+ experiential background in Speech and Language impairments. I worked for many years with international populations on their English skills and accent reductions. I traveled to China to teach English to University students in Beijing and also developed a conversational English class with volunteers at Wayne State University. I directed the International Friends program at an area church with 80 volunteers working with mostly Japanese women and families. My employment is in the local school district working most recently with students who have Early Childhood/Elementary speech and language delays.
I love working with people and helping them to speak more confidently and more effectively in their surroundings.

Seek out and talk to a variety of professionals in order to find someone you will feel comfortable working with.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students will want to give examples of what their concerns are and ask if that is something that can be worked on. For example: you need help ordering from menus; understanding English movies or books; speaking correctly at work; pronouncing particular sounds correctly in words and sentences and in conversations; or asking questions appropriately, etc.
