About
With 17 years of music experience and 5 years of teaching experience free lance or with a company, I feel comfortable saying that I can teach well on a technical level.
I'm very passionate about my students being confident in the musical achievements that they work for. I'm on the older side of gen Z so I understand the difficulties of attention issues and find ways to engage my students.
I think one of the most important skills for a young or starting musician is to learn how to learn. Eventually a student will be able to teach themselves songs even without me, I think that being able to do so is essential for turning a hobby into a skill that will be with you for life.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically I'll ask a new student what they're looking for with lessons. I'll work with my students to find realistic goals, mainly focus on what the student is interested in to get there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
2 years of music tutoring at Michigan Rock School
17 years of guitar experience (since I was 8)
3 years of freelance guitar lessons
I attended Wayne State University for Music Technology
While at Wayne State I was classically trained in guitar
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
1 hour remote - $40
1 hour in person - $45
30 minutes remote - $20
30 mins in person - $30
Prices are negotiable as well as the lengths of a lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching music when I was in a band in Highschool, I had to teach my friend bass from scratch.
later in life I started working at Michigan Rock School in Milford Michigan where I developed the bulk of my teaching skills.
What types of students have you worked with?
The bulk of my experience is in the age range of 9-18 years old.
Many students have been in the 35-60 age range, picking up a new hobby or brushing up on guitar skills from earlier in life.
I've had guitar lessons become music theory lessons with older teens that are planning to go into college for music or just want to know music theory.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher that will listen to what you want out of lessons. There is a place for learning scales and theory and the boring stuff, but if you're bored you're not going to want to play.
