Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before the 1st session, we will do an evaluation in order to get a grasp on his or her foundation. Once the baseline is established, we will work on building your game tailored to the player specifically.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am considered a floor general. BWAC Champion, D-2 Men's Basketball Allstar MVP. A decade of playing experience plus 7 years running as a coach with all coaching certifications.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
All bookings are done through myself for time slots. Free consultations. The consultation will be held to a 10 minute phone conversation, nothing more. Pricing is dependent on player’s age and desired training time.
How did you get started teaching?
I had many people request me to train or coach them, being a coach during COVID really amped me up to follow my dream and passion which is to give back through basketball and be the coach I didn’t have.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with hundreds of kids from 3rd-8th grade. Trained over 100 high school athletes, varsity only. 20+ Collegiate athletes D1-JUCO. 2 G-League and 1 NBA. .
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a trainer who really listens to you and can detect your needs. I teach fundamentals on all skill work such as shooting, dribbling, off-ball work, defensive ability, breaking presses ect. Most of all, I teach how to be a great teammate/leader. You need to learn your age group, figure out how to perfect the basics first and then branch into perfecting your craft!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1: Can you help me reach the next level?
2: Are they a player coach?
3: Are they presentable, knowledgeable, and take their craft seriously?
