About

My service stands out because you don’t have to pay top dollar to put and emphasis on 1 on 1 teaching. That’s my bread and butter. Being a certified personal trainer I bring more aspects into my lessons to further tap into my athletes talent and work ethic. You don't pay seperate for the personal trainer. I correlate the skill work and physical training together. I played varsity 3 of 4 years in High School. I have multiple Babe Ruth League state titles and played collegiality for 2 years after High school and was a win away from the college World Series. I know how good baseball is played and what it looks like. I break down the fundamentals of the game to help their skill set grow exponentially. Wether it's infield, outfield, on the bump or in the box, when the fundamentals become basic nature, it leaves all the room in the world for the talent to take over. Baseball is such a mental sport as well. I've read numerous books about not only techniques physically, but techniques mentally. That knowledge either isn’t passed on too often, or it costs an arm and a leg to get.

I enjoy helping people get the most out of themselves. I enjoy spending time teaching the younger generation about the sport I grew up loving and still love. I enjoy being a good influence and passing on my knowledge to the younger generation.

Frequently asked questions

With any new student the first session is free. Parents are strongly advised to attend this meeting so that I can get a further understanding of the student that I am going to be training over the next couple of weeks. I'm gonna start by asking you questions:

How long have they been playing the game?

What's your favorite position?

What are their likes and dislikes?

What are their goals?

Once I talk to my students and parents and get a good idea of where they want to go and how they want this training to enhance their skills, I'll preforme some basic movement tests and strength tests. This is going to show me how much Baseball skill work and personal training work to incorporate into our sessions. Because we only have an hour together I want to maximize our time to help my clients achieve the best version of themselves. My recommendation for clients is to train 3 times a week to maximize muscle memory and skill development. You also want plenty of time for muscle recovery.

I am a certified personal trainer and nutritionist. I have worked for well established club baseball programs in the past and at Lifetime Fitness and Experience Fitness. I know the baseball industry in Minnesota as well as the fitness industry. I currently coach high-school baseball at Como Park.

Right off the bat once I got my certification I knew that this was something I wanted to do. I was an assistant Little League coach when I was younger and now that I am a certified personal trainer and nutritionist I know more about how to achieve athletic prowess. Coaching Club baseball and now High school has allowed me to see not only allowed me to see how talent is across the country but compare that with the talent we have in Minnesota. Kids don’t get the benefit of playing all year around here. Time is that much more important. I've always played baseball at a high level and I love to pass on that knowledge.

I've worked with any kids from the ages of 5-18.

The age group that would benifit from me the most in my professional opinion would 8-18 year olds. I think that at this age mechanics and how to approach the game are different with every coach but In the context of Baseball it should really all the same. You cannot expect your standard summer league volunteer head coach to know the right thing to say or do if he never played or studied the game. When I was eight years old one of my best friends dads coached the baseball team I was on and he didn't know a thing about baseball, give your athlete a chance!

Being able to play the game and teach the game do go hand-in-hand for young coaches at least. I would not want to learn from someone that cannot do the skill that they are trying to teach better than me.

Some examples:

Will this affect me in the long run?

How are others responding/acting about this?

Do I need to do the same?

Is this the most appropriate way to ask this question?

What else do I need to learn or work on?

What did I do bad today?

What did I do well today?

Because it applies to most or the majority, does it have to apply to me?

Personally I don't think any question at that age is the wrong question if you have the right person handling it. I want my student to go over their performance and analyze it themselves. This will be an aquired skill I realize that, but it's a critical skill if you want to further advance your career. There will be times in your career where no one else can tell you what's wrong with your swing besides  you. This comes with practice and knowledge of your biomechanics, a secret the good hitters know.
