40 years of photography experience, and military trained as a combat photographer. So... I know photography as good, if not better than most people. But more importantly, I’m very good at teaching photography as well.

It’s the knowledge that I’m helping others grow as artists and develop a skill that will serve them for a lifetime.
I took four lessons so far from Michael. The first two lessons were in his studio/home and he went over the basics of DSLR photography and equipment. The last two lessons were actually photo shoots. Michael has a great way of breaking things down to help you develop good habits and take great pictures without being overwhelming.. The photoshoots were invaluable and personalized. My goal in taking the lessons was to have some great pictures from a trip to Ireland; I certainly succeeded. I previously had taken a community Ed class about photography. There is no comparison I felt like I wasted my money on that community Ed class; just go for a couple of classes from Michael. You will learn so much and you will not be sorry. Worth every penny. I hope to take a class on post-processing now that I’m back from my trip.
He breaks things down to their basics and explains well. We went on a photo shoot yesterday and I learned quite a bit.
First we talk over the phone to find out what the student wants out of their lessons. Once we determine the outcomes we decide on the dates and times of the lessons. The lesson structure will vary on what the student’s goals and experience level are.
