About
Athletes quickly see my passion for teaching the game of basketball. I always provide consistent, positive feedback, and I, continuously, challenge my clients to be better.
I love to teach young athletes proper shooting and ball-handling mechanics, effective footwork and how to be stronger, better skilled offensive player. I believe the key to being a successful athlete is having a high level of confidence.
I do not just train athletes but rather develop relationships with my clients. I do not want to be just a trainer but also a mentor.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Your first lesson/workout with myself is what I refer to as an evaluation session. An opportunity for you to evaluate my teaching style and training format, and an opportunity for me to observe you as I take you through a variety of shooting, ball-handling and footwork drills.
During the initial session we will also talk about the skills/weaknesses that you want to improve, new skills you would like to develop, and your short- and long-term goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have coached at the collegiate, assistant coach on the Winona State University's men's staff, and high school, varsity coach at Bloomington Kennedy High School, levels.
I founded Minnesota Developmental Basketball (MDB) in June of 1993. I have training thousands of athletes over the past 24 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Prices for lessons:
Initial evaluation....$45.00
1-2 one-hour lessons....$70.00 per hour
3-4 one-hour lessons, pre-paid....$60.00 per hour
5 or more one-hour lessons, pre-paid....$55.00 per hour
How did you get started teaching?
After completing my eligibility I joined the coaching staff at Winona State University and quickly learned that I did not know a lot about the game of basketball. Three new coaches joined the WSU staff that same season and I learned a lot from them, especially about teaching the game. Two years later I moved back to the Twin Cities and founded a basketball training program called Minnesota Developmental Basketball (MDB).
What types of students have you worked with?
During the past 24 plus years I have worked with athletes of all ages and skill levels. From 2nd graders to first timers in 9th grade to wheel chair players. Many of my clients have gone on to play in college and two presently play in the NBA.
