Cassidy Miller Cello Lessons
About
I studied at Roosevelt University Chicago College of Performing Arts under members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Daniel Katz and Richard Hirschl. I have played in Symphonies, such as Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra as a Fellow, and I have performed across Italy on a tour. I have been teaching the cello for 5 years; I have experience teaching young children, teenagers, and adults. I have much experience in audition preparation, as my students have always auditioned and made the advanced orchestras in school.
I enjoy helping my students obtain their goals - it is very rewarding!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to know the student's background with music, and then more specifically experience with cello. If the student is new to cello, I will introduce parts of the cello and bow, proper maintenance and setup, and start with producing a good tone through the instrument with use of the bow and proper positioning. If the student is not new to cello, I will ask the student to play a scale and a piece. After hearing these, I will evaluate and develop the best course for the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied a Music Performance degree on cello at both Illinois Wesleyan University and Roosevelt University, Chicago College of Performing Arts. I taught chamber music for four years at OPUS Chamber Music Camp in Lisle, Illinois.
