About
As an educator and musician, I am passionate about using individual-driven methods to guide students to a practice of joy, curiosity, and excitement. I love working with students on their passions, their practice habits, and achieving their goals. I specialize in tabla playing, but also teach mallet percussion, snare drum and drum set, music theory, and beginner ukulele and vocals.
I received a Master's Degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor's Degree in Percussion Performance from Northern Illinois University. Additionally, I have 10+ years of professional experience as a musician and educator, teaching percussion ensembles, marching percussion, and individual lesson students.
For a comprehensive list of my accomplishemtns, current projects, and music, please check out my website at www.krissybergmark.com, or find me on Facebook or Instagram.
I love helping people reach their goals, and helping people find enthusiasm in music making. Music is an inherent joy, and it is a privilege for me to be able to help people discover how they can create that joy for themselves.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In the first lesson, I like to begin by talking with students about their goals and hopes for the lessons. I find that accessing student's motivations helps us both keep our eye on the prize! This also ensures we don't try to take on too much at once, and that we maintain focus each lesson in working towards a goal.
