About

I believe anybody with passion and desire to be a musician can achieve their goals with regular, concentrated practice and genuine connected listening. Music is such a vastly varying, dimensional medium of art and entertainment with innumerable different never-ending, crisscrossing paths to follow. Whether you're a new beginner or have experience practicing music, it would be my pleasure to share from my experience studying and performing music the techniques and knowledge best suited to help you follow your individual path as a musician.

Since moving to Minneapolis in 2015, I've gotten to study and perform in classical, jazz, gospel, latin, r&b, rock, and pop styles. In May of 2020, I completed my music performance degree, and I was honored to be recognized as an Outstanding Graduate in Performance. In addition to my school work, I've been playing weddings, functions, and concerts in all the styles mentioned as well as teaching private lessons since 2016.

My goal is to give each of my students the lessons that will equip them to make the music they want to make while ensuring they're not held back by their physical technique, mental understanding, or emotional engagement. I want to teach my students the lessons that will be most relevant to their goals, so I tailor my lessons to each individual student to meet them wherever they're at on their path.

    Frequently asked questions

With any student I haven't worked with before, I ask questions to get to know their background with music and art and get to know what kind of music they connect with. From there I start to devise lesson plans that meet the student where they're at and build up the skills they need to make the music they want to make. My lesson plans typically involve technical exercises that improve speed and dexterity, theory exercises that improve hearing and understanding, and repertoire practice from books or recordings that practically apply the technique and theory lessons.
