Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, we first would like to gauge where the student is relating to the subject. Once we know what level your student is at, we will create a personalized study plan to help your student learn and master the subject.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a senior in high school and I have taken all high level math courses (i.e. adv. algebra, geometry honors, AP Calc AB). I have also taken Pre-Calculus as an online summer course, so I know how to navigate through an online learning system. I am also a tutor at my school for National Honor Society. Through this, I feel confident in helping and communicating with your student to learn and achieve their goals. I have also attended a summer program called "Girls Talk Math" where girls solve graduate level math problems. I am also an Aspirnaut (a summer research program at Vanderbilt's Medical Center) in which I have participated in biomedical research at Vanderbilt University.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Amazing tutors start their pricing at $15/per hour and $20/per hour for AP courses; however, we are willing to negotiate a price that will work for you and us (subject to change).
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When looking for a tutor in mathematics, you want to make sure the tutor helps you understand the material while also building skill because when you understand the topic and are comfortable with the skills needed to take on the math problem, you'll be invincible.
