I have been teaching art at Southwest High School for 23 years. Many of my students have gone on to successful artists some have even gone on to show in museums.
I like people, and I enjoy helping students find themselves through their art work.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would like to meet intially online and possibly do the lessons that way too. We can discuss the students goals and I can create some leassons that will target those goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters of Art Education from the University of Minnesota

I have been teaching for 30 years in the highschools and am starting to transition into teaching privately

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would be a good fit for a student who would like to use art to grow and learn more about yourself. I am pretty versitile, because I have so much experience, but I tend to enjoy less the more rote learning, but like to find deeper connections in the work that my students do.
