Infinite Illustration Styles
About
I have been drawing since I could hold a pencil- often disappearing into my sketchbook for days.
Being such a young artist, I spent much of that time casually influenced by cartoons, video games, and books. Witnessing so many drawing styles inspired me to explore the expanses of my capabilities, a positive consequence of which is now I can mimic most any style.
I began my professional career in the 8th grade, drawing caricatures for my hometown's summer festival, and by commission. I have taught others the way of the line since about 10th grade, when I was invited by my art teacher to lead a project focused on exploring cartooning. I was inspired at a young age by painter & PBS personality Bob Ross. He taught me that through patience and with the right tools, anyone can become the artist they wish to be. This has been my foundation when teaching others, and, like him, I specialize in techniques which can make the inconcievable understandable & manageable.
In 2005, I earned my degree in fine arts. During my time at university, I studied a wide variety of mediums and styles, but through it all, drawing has remained my passion. That being said, I am a studied and capable painter, sculptor, colorist, printmaker, and designer, to name a few.
Bringing ideas into reality is the foundation of creation, and I am humbled by the result. No matter what the proposed idea, drawing is fundamental for bringing potential to life, and extremely effective as a way of communicating concepts. As I am sometimes at a loss for words, relaying ideas through a combination of words and pictures yields stronger results.
