About

Malcom Potek has been working in glass since 1991. He works primarily in multiple-fusing, cold-working and kiln-formed glass, as well as hot-glass inclusions. Malcom, an experienced torchworker, also creates custom canes for inclusion in his kiln work.

Malcom has taught glass making techniques nationally, including at the studio at the corning museum of glass in Corning, New York

In addition to being a working artist, Malcom currently runs a teaching glass studio in NE Minneapolis, MN. The studio teaches various glass working techniques, provides rental space and equipment, sells glass and supplies, and is a resource to those interested in pursuing glass as a craft.

"Making art changes the world". This sentiment is literally as well as figuratively true. Objects created from our imagination can contribute to the beauty seen in our everyday lives. Spiritually this is tue as well. The practice of making art and gaining skill engages our sense of self and place in ways few other pursuits can bring to the concious mind.
