    Frequently asked questions

Typically when working with a new student I like to get to know who they are, what inspires them, what mediums they feel comfortable with, and which ones they'd like to explore. I like to know what they would like to paint and what kind of art inspires them.

I have about 10 years of education in various mediums, acrylic ink watercolor, sculpture work, pastels, graphite, and many other mediums. I also have 14 years working experience. Formal education with St. Paul Academy of Performing Arts and Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

Pricing varies on the amount of time we'd be working together and what level a student is at.

I started teaching after I developed my style, starting with home lessons and hosting paint art nights.

I've worked with all students of all levels, I cana help you establish basic skills, and understanding of different types of mediums, as well as concept development and specialized feedback.

One of the most recent events I attended and enjoyed was an art show from one of my professors at MCAD. His work is really inspiring to me because it was influenced by his time in the Pacific Northwest which happens to be the place I feel most creative.

If you have a vision or calling and you need to execute it, take the time to learn the right technique to make that vision a reality. If there's a driving force that is calling for you to create, start somewhere and learn how to channel it now, don't waste a stroke of inspiration.

Some questions that would be important to ask and think through would be ones that lead you to discover what drives your passion to create. What images are you inspired by? Do you prefer to paint from life a picture or your imagination? How would you like to improve?
