I am a graduate of the Instrumental Music Education program at the University of Northern Iowa, specializing in classical and jazz trumpet. I have been performing with guitar, voice, piano, and trumpet in a variety of musical settings since I was a young child. I started teaching private lessons several years ago, and have continued in constant pursuit of the "aha!" moments that my students have when they truly understand a new musical idea.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process begins with determining what skills and experience the student already has. Then, we discuss what their musical goals are; what kind of music they enjoy, their short-term and long-term goals with music, etc.
We decide together what would be the most apropriate lesson length and schedule.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music in Education degree from the University of Northern Iowa, regarded as one of the best schools in the Midwest for music and education. I am an inductee of the music education honor society Pi Kappa Lambda.

$30 for 30 minutes
$40 for 60 minutes
$50 for 60-minute buddy lessons (2-3 students at once)
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with beginner through intermediate music students of all ages, as well as students with intellectual and physical disabilities.
