About

In 2014 after 11 years of part time photography, Elaine decided to “take the plunge” and leave her full time career as a construction project manager to pursue the dream of operating a full time photography studio.

Elaine genuinely puts her entire heart into providing gorgeous images with the proper knowledge of lighting & composition coupled with excellent equipment. She also prides herself on being an excellent listener even though she talks way too much.

Elaine’s other passion is the “heart project”. When leaving her career to pursue her dream she promised herself that if she were to have any success, she would always give back to the community. This is what she now refers to as "the heart" of I Love Photography. This pursuit has lead Elaine into multiple community roles such as Hopkins Business & Civic Association President and currently sits on the Twin Cities Professional Photographer Association board. After years of partnering with non-profits and community leaders Elaine is more inspired every day.

Elaine is published and an award winning photographer, has been featured on Twin Cities Live numerous times and is one of only 18 Certified Professional Photographers in the Twin Cities Area.

It's my passion and has been for over 20 years.

    Frequently asked questions

I first want to find out what they are hoping to get from the lesson(s), what their learning style is and go from there.

I'm a Certified Professional Photographer and have been operating a full time photography studio for over 6 years.

I started by teaching other professional photographers lighting and then started giving classes to other business owners on cell phone photography.

I've worked from seasoned professional photographers to students who just know how to find the camera button on their cell phone.

Recently during a class another professional photographer had a light bulb moment from something I showed her and she started to tear up she was so happy.

Make sure they have experience and are certified.  In my field it can be very easy to call yourself a "professional" but have no formal training or knowledge.

What is it they would like to have happen from their lessons.  What is the goal.
