Rob has been a great fit for my boys ages 12 and 9. He very quickly determined their levels and helped them to feel proud of where they are and where theyre going as individuals. Hes a great teacher!

Frequently asked questions

I want to get to know a student and their skill set first, and also really understand their goals in learning music. In this way I can tailor my training to their needs and help each student with personalized lessons that get them where they want to go musically.

I hold a degree in music performance (percussion) and physics from UW Eau Claire and have studied piano and percussion from the age of 8.

I've had the pleasure to study with Jeff Crowell,  Steve Schick, Gregg Lohman (drummer for Taylor Swift, Kellie Pickler, and more), Patti Cudd (of Zeitgeist) and many other fantastic artists.

Ive worked as a sound engineer, sound designer and mixing engineer for the last 18 years.

My first teaching gig was 15 years ago and I haven't stopped sharing and exploring the world of music since!

I have worked with students from the age of 9 to 55, at all levels from beginner to advanced.

The Cedar Cultural Center's online event streams have been great this past year!

Always ask about what method or book series the teacher uses when starting a beginner student.

Not all methods are equal, and while many are quite good, several have serious shortcomings that hamper student growth in the long term.
