About
I have been illustrating for 9 years professionally and also creating my own works of contemporary and modern surrealism for 8 of those. I am looking to share the knowledge I was graced with growing up around many MCAD graduates.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start out with the basics. No matter what level you are it is important to build a strong foundation in any medium in which you want to work. Once we've a better understanding of basic techniques then we can move into some of the more advanced techniques and compositional movements.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been an artist for 6 years. I have had shows based around political movements, created childrens book characters, done collaborative shows with well known artists, and aim to continue to grow. I grew up around the best artists in the Twin Cities and was educated by the Alumni of MCAD. My father did the Macy's Christmas Show for 30 years in Minneapolis. I learned very much from him and have continued into my adulthood. I love artwork and I love artists. I'd like to spread that love by teaching what I do know.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Beginner lessons are $60.00 an hour. Lessons are typically 1 to 2 hours with a minimum of 1 hour required.
-
Advanced technique lessons are $80.00 an hour with a minimum of 4 beginner sessions booked and attended before moving onto advanced techniques.
-
Compositional lessons are $50.00 an hour but require you to learn basic skills and some advanced painting techniques. Taking compositional classes are for more advanced students. Once you've learned what you can from me it's then time to start exploring on your own.
-
Specialized Techniques are $60.00 an hour with a requirement of all courses completed. 1 hour minimum sessions.
Intuitive Drawing Classes are group lessons at $35 per person and they last approximately 1.5 hours. Minimum 4 people required.
If there is something you want to learn that is an advanced skill that I do not cover in my typical classes then we can dissect and discuss that technique together.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching classes at a neat little shop called Grow to Life which is now called Natreum Hemp Wellness. I started teaching because I had something to share with the world. I had a dream and a goal to spread true unconditional love. What better way than to share artistic therapeutic knowledge.
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds. I have worked with students that are just starting out and students that have been an artist for most of their lives. I teach mainly automatic drawing classes and water color techniques. Soon though I will be opening up services to acrylic. I have also worked with students with Autism and have deeply enjoyed it.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event that I enjoyed deeply... I would say that I have become fond of the quiet solitude that comes with being an artist. I know of and reciprocate love for many people. I am never truly alone. Which means that while going out to events may be exciting for some... I find taking care of my plants and painting is much more exciting.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't ask for discounts and be polite. My time is very valuable. Understand that once a lesson is booked you are taking someone's valuable time up and filling that time slot. Once that time slot is filled try not to cancel as it is near impossible to fill once it has been taken, especially at such short notice. Also, be ready to experience openness within yourself. Art is an extension and expression of your soul. Be ready to let it all go.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Be ready to learn. Have an open mind. Even if you already have knowledge on painting; Another point of view may be crucial to your development. Think about specifically how much you want a spiritual experience vs a mainly practical one. I can differentiate and separate between the two.
