I’m currently studying violin at Lawrence University, and I absolutely love helping students grow—not just as musicians, but as confident, expressive performers. I'm an old hand at teaching violin now and know what works and what doesn't. Of course it takes a bit to ascertain where the students talents are, and try to try to approach a variety of issues with an encouraging attitude. I like seeing a student perform something I've taught them, but really I just enjoy imparting my knowledge on the subject of music and violin/fiddle playing. I know all the pieces that are "winners" but am good at creating a good technique as well as an interesting repertoire.
