Lauren is such a great art teacher. I’ve always just accepted that I didn’t have any artistic abilities, but she totally proved me wrong. By the end of our first lesson, I had a painting I was proud to hang up on my wall.
Her guidance and explanation was a joy to follow along with. She helped me understand everything from the very basics of painting, all the way to how I can add those slight details that really brought my art to life.
Lauren’s attitude is so encouraging and relaxed. It really made for a great environment for learning a new skill!
Thanks Lauren! Can’t wait for our next lesson

She has a lot of patience when teaching that exemplifies her true love for art. You could tell she was there simply to spread her love and didn’t care what form it came in. She only ever speaks to educate and does so in consideration that some may not have any education previously

    Frequently asked questions

I typically allow a new student to set the pace based on how comfortable they are. We start usually with introduction to the medium and tools, then an overall look at what we are trying to accompish. I willl give tutorials as to how the work is usually approached and then we dive in! There are many ways to work with people, some gain more from watching me work alongside them while others may work better through trial and error on their own and me being their for their questions and to give suggestion!

Bachelors Degree (May 2020) -- Art & Psychology: Coursework in many different mediums, oil, acrylic, drawing with charcoal and graphite, stoneware ceramics, bookbinding, pine needle weaving and more!

    Volunteering with Art Camps

I typically charge hourly. Sometimes art can vary between 1 hour and 5 hours a day depending how much progress we are making and how much help the individual would like. The price outlines my time spent teaching as well as travel time (if needed) and in some cases supplies (if needed).

I have worked with people ranging from pre-school age to university students. I also have performed crafts with elderly in a assisted living setting.

Last fall, there was an Art Crawl held within a city near me that i had attended. Along a city street there were multiple vendors who displayed their art work for sale that was open to the public to see. It was very interesting because the art varied from jewelry making, to pottery, to abstract and realistic drawings and paintings. It was a fun local event to become inspired by.
