Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Students please see our website at Bi State Driving School or call at (913) 648-3452 and we would be glad to help you personally. We offer different programs to help people at different levels of driving skill and depending on if you live in Kansas or Missouri and the states laws. We will find what fits your needs and work with you to pass your drivers test either with is or the Department of Motor Vehicles.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Kansas residents that wish to take either program do not need a permit or any experience.
Missouri residents that wish to take either program must have a permit and be at least 16 years of age. If you take the full program you will need to meet at our office in Overland Park, KS.. Individual lessons we can pick up and drop off at your home.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Full classroom is one price and includes 2/4 hour classroom sessions and 3/2 hour behind the wheel lessons.

How did you get started teaching?
Contact us at Bi State Driving School located at 95th and Antioch in Overland Park, KS. Please contact us at (913) 648-3452 or [email protected]
What types of students have you worked with?
We have worked with students from 14 to 85 years old with little or no experience to advanced. Students that have handicaps that are mental and physical limitations. If they bring an interpreter students that speak different languages. People that have lost their license or had it revoked once they have a letter from the court what is required to get them reinstated.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We pass all our state audits with a 100% and have a 98% pass rate helping students learn to drive.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Check around but ask lots of questions about the program and everything it includes. Schools have different prices and some don't include fuel charges, pick up or drop off for lessons. Schools also do programs differntly and you must already have 20 to 30 hours of driving experience and Bi-State does not expect students to have expeience because we feel that is the purpose of a driving school.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Know your skill level or experience on the road. Students need to know the rules and laws for themselves or other drivers.
