About
Gozde Cakir, a native of Turkey is a first year DMA student at University of Missouri Kansas-City where she studies with Mary Posses and and is a member of Graduate Woodwind Fellowship Quintet. She completed her Bachelors degree in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and Master degree at Central Michigan University where she was Graduate Teaching Assistant. Ms Cakir won second prize in the Izmir International Flute Competition and was received Yamaha Scholarship Award and was awarded Honorable Mention at the Patricia Nixon Competition in Michigan.
She was one of four flutists selected via recorded audition to perform in a masterclass with Emmanuel Pahud in Turkey in 2014. As an active soloist and chamber musician, Ms. Cakirappeared in concerts throughout Turkey, the United States, France, and Kosovo, including: two weeks of performances at Opus Erasmus III Mélodie et poésie dans la musiquecontemporaine (Melody and Poetry in contemporary music) where she took part in both orchestral and chamber music (Paris,2013), International Pera Music Festival (Istanbul, 2014 and 2015), and the International Kosovo Music Festival: Zgijimi meArt (Wake up with Art), (Kosovo, 2014). She has also performed in masterclasses given by James Galway, Raffaele Trevisani, Andrea Oliva, Davide Formisano, Bulent Evcil, Robin Kani, Laura Hamm, Matts Möller, Robert Win, Donna Shin, Lydia Oshavkova, Kathleen Rudolph and Christian Plouvier.
I have taught many beginners and advance students back in Turkey and in the United States. My goal is always help students to achieve their best along with enjoying the music.

My name is Gözde Cakir, I recently finished my doctoral degree in flute performance at University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory. I am a teaching artist at Harmony Project KC and flutist for the Topeka Symphony Orchestra. When searching for a flute instructor, it is always worth investing in the most qualified instructor possible, in order to achieve greater musical results. I have been teaching flute for over 12 years and have experience working with students from beginner to collegiate levels. My students have won competitions, all-state auditions, and college scholarships.
