Galactic Dragonfly Arts & Wellness

About

I love nurturing the light and creativity in people of all ages. I believe that by accessing our imagination and critical thinking skills and working with our hands, we are better able to empathise and relate to one another and to care for our planet. I've spent decades in creative spaces, and have my Bachelor's in Fine Arts. I have also worked with youth for many years and have spent time teaching art lessons in various camps and extracurricular programs. It is an honor to share creative lessons with you and your children.

I met Mariposa in Hawaii, she hosted amazing arts and wellness workshops. My favorite was when she made the wellness tonic/elixir. She has also created multiple paintings of my aura and my sweet kittens. If you get to work with her it’s such a gift! She is such a creative + intelligent being.

Frequently asked questions

I like to begin with a free 15 minute call to connect and see what your desires and goals are and if it feels like we'd work well together. After that we can plan a session for 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on what we're working on. I might give you exercises to do at home between sessions. Our time together can be more focused (learning specific skills & working on specific projects) or more open ended (activities and time devoted to exploring and generating more creativity).

I have spent years studying art and have a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. I've worked and volunteered in various camps, churches, schools, and spaces sharing and creating art activities mainly for kids ages 3-15. I've helped friends and other adults build creative skills and have taught workshops and classes on subjects from plant medicine and yoga to reiki and guided meditation.

Depending on the materials, number of students, location, and activities, our lessons may range from $50-$100/hour.

My first serious teaching experience was at an after-school program in Nicaragua. I created lesson plans and supported other teachers' lessons and was invited to teach at a local elementary school. I felt the joy of witnessing people being creative and exploring their unique voices and the magic of deconstructing rules and obstacles to self-expression.

I've worked with students of all ages on various topics. I'm also a yoga teacher and continually share and teach creative and holistic modalities to a diverse range of students weekly.

I'm very fond of working with a group of middle schoolers last fall on a 'Gratitude Book' project. We made little booklets and collaged images to create our pages of gratitude. I loved seeing everybody expressing themselves in such unique ways.

Consider what it is you are looking for. Are you interested in becoming a more realistic drawer, or mastering certain techniques? Are you looking for an outlet where you can express yourself and enjoy creating as play and part of your wellness journey? Get clear and choose someone that you resonate with. This is for you!

Everything I just wrote in the advice section. Also, think through what materials you're going to want/ what your materials budget is.
