About
KC Art Angels is a 501(c)(3) non profit art studio. We are staffed with wonderful and creative volunteers in every aspect of the arts. Each art lessons goes directly to our outreach program which provides free workshop time for individuals with mental and/or physical disabilities. Currently we service many groups including the VA Center on the Plaza, Johnson County Mental Health Center, UMKC Propel Students, Several Assisted Living Centers, Shawnee Mission Transitional students, and many more. Our goal is to enable everyone to have a voice through the arts!
Julaire Sterbach is the CEO of KC Art Angels and teaches many of the classes herself. She has sold art internationally, and has a passion for influencing creativity in others. She has been teaching at KC Art Angels for two years, and has several return students. Her favorite form of art is wood sculpting and impressionstic painting, although she genuinely loves all forms of art. She has her minor in Fashion Merchandising and 20+ hours of graduate school in elementary education. She has shown many of her pieces in art galleries, along with being featured on local television networks.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Undergraduate in Fashion Merchandising, graduate school in Elementary Education. I have taught hundreds of students over the last two years. From watercolor, to sculpting, to acrylic and digital painting, each student has been able to creatively express themselves in a postive environrment.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$15 for one hour, $25 for two hours, $35 for private lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I worked for the SMSD SPED program for 5 years and found that I had a passion for teaching and the ability to use art to communicate.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all levels of abilities, from ages 3 on up to ageless. I have worked with students on the spectrum, those suffering from PTSD or other mental disabilities, the elderly, the young at heart, and the more advanced art student.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love going weekly to the VA Center on the Plaza and working with the Veterans there. So rewarding!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Meet the teacher first to make sure that you have a connection.
