Bears in the Rockies, rushing white waters in Arizona, little girls in their first dance recital costumes, models’ pics published in Teen Magazine and Mora Modeling Magazine, and dog mushing in the Tetons may only be photographs to most, but to Doug Busby, they are a reality. Doug uses his love for adventure to drive his long-time passion of photography. Snowmobiling on Beartooth Pass in January, canoeing the Boundary Waters, kayaking the Apostle Island Caves, and scuba diving in Hawaii rank as favorites on Doug’s highlight reel. From Polaroids to Fuji film to a Canon DSLR and a Sony Mirrorless, Doug has captured shots through it all with a deep grasp of lighting, angles, composition, research, perfect timing, and patience. Doug’s photography includes anything and everything from landscapes, studio portraits, off-site portraits, culinary shots, to furniture manufacturing marketing photos. Not only does Doug enjoy taking photos, but he is now sharing his vision with others as he has taken on the role as a photography guide leading trips to Colorado, Kansas, and now San Francisco, Seattle, and the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. He is a rare mixture of a man’s man enjoying the adrenaline rush of the hunt, but with the eye of an artist set on being a photog for the purpose of educating the world, sharing a special occasion, or simply appreciating the sense of pleasure of a pleased customer or friend.
Doug’s passions include working (Yes, he loves what he does!), taking care of and appreciating everything in this amazing world God blessed us with and enjoying his family.
Pictures may be Doug’s job, but Douglas Busby Photography is about making memories one photo at a time.
