About
Brian recently completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Kansas where he studied with Dr. Sarah Frisof and Michael Gordon and served as the flute Graduate Teaching Assistant. As a flutist I have distinguished myself through performance and competition as a prizewinner in numerous competitions including the South Carolina Flute Society Young Artist Competition and the Contemporary Performance Competition at the Cortona Sessions in Italy.
I believe that technique serves musicianship and that it is important the student feels he or she gets to make music in every lesson and in every practice session. Every technical exercise should have a direct musical application, and every single lesson should be tailored to the student’s needs. Although not every student will want to become a professional musician, my goal is to get every student to enjoy the process of working toward his or her greatest potential.
I love making music and sharing that passion with my students! In every lesson I try to show my students that they are capable of more than they thought.
