About
I am what stands out about my business, my passion for the game and attention to detail utilized to diagnose weaknesses and acknowledge strengths, and the work to build in both.
i also address the mental toughness and dedication it takes to continue to grow and improve in the coming years. I stress both the individual parts of the game and responsibilities as well as the team concept and it’s importance for success at whatever level of skill is achieved.
My experience comes from 4 yrs of college basketball , coaching several successful AAU teams in the Memphis, TN area. And continuing to play myself follow the game to stay on top of new rules and trends in the game.
Skills to be addressed: Ballhandling, passing and catching the ball, shooting all varieties of shots and the form to have a soft accurate touch, rebounding , defensive positioning both individual, team defenses, the full court game , transitioning and more.
Being in the heart of Illinois I grew up in a successful high school culture, and hope to teach in cities such as St. Louis, Indianapolis, Springfield, Decatur, Effingham, and all the rural surrounding area. I’ll go anywhere a young person wants to commit to working hard and giving their best to become the best individual and team player they can possibly be.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
i just recently relocated back to the central Illinois area after being gone almost 40 yrs. I really like all the special basketball showcases conducted at several schools across the area to pair teams against teams they would never play against normally and allows the teams and their players more of an opportunity to be viewed by coach’s at higher college level and hopefully a scholarship opportunity.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be prepared to work hard , be coachable, know what you expect to gain from it, have confidence, commit to working hard and being a good listener, respect your parents or Guardians commitment to allow the player to do this extra work, the time and financial commitment that is being made. Don’t waste your and coach’s time if your not understanding of how hard you must work to improve and benefit from this extra work.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
kmow where realistically you are as a player in relation to the level and competition you want to compete at. What do you know or think that you need to improve the most on(weaknesses)
what are your strengths that you want to expand and improve on to maximize that strength against the competition. ARE YOU READY TO COMPETE AT A HIGH LEVEL AND DO WHAT IT TAKES TO IMPROVE TO GET THERE ?
