Namaste... in Javasana π§ββοΈπ²
You are only as old as you feel.. things in motion stay in motion and things at rest well they stiffen and store toxins. Happiness verses unhappiness is the difference in a boosted healthy immune system and one that is compromised. Take you flow as often as you do those vitamins and feel the balancing of your energy chakra centers as they glow and send vitality to mind, body and soul. Self care is essential and it is important to allow a moment to bring awareness to our breathe and the now that is the present moment. I offer journal prompts, massage, many options of guided meditation and of course flow! Yoga means to yoke..to me this can be seen in making healthy connections and finding inspiration and taking the time to practice yoga, breath work, meditate and nourish all the parts of our amazing beings. It's not about the pose it is the action that is important in life and yoga. As they say, "the pose doesn't begin until you want to leave it." Come practice and find which type of yoga serves you. Tune into yourself and remember that "The Body keeps the score" as told by Ted Despenza. I welcome you to come join me as we nourish and connect to our mind through our bodies and allowing the breathe to give life to areas that have kept the score of all trauma we have experienced sometimes causing soreness and stiffness. You may want find that you have a need for ridding of toxins. Yo massage is a great way to stay active and then after and/or during a practice you have option to receive a massage which is intended to leave you feeling as if you just returned from the most relaxing dream vacation. Let's embody the yoking that is yoga and connect with our mind through movement and breathe. Namaste.

How did you get started teaching?
I love yoga and first taught myself in 2007. After suffering from trauma and seeking recovery I began practicing meditation and yoga in studio. I loved it even more than before and this time not just for the physical aspect but because of the healing aspect. I completed my yoga teacher training and jumped right into a trauma based continued education that I am due to graduate from in August 2021. I will then begin certification to become a yoga therapist with a total of 800 hours of education.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children doing bedtime yoga, teaching beginner and intermediate level yoga. I work with those in recovery or whom have suffered from trauma or addiction. There is no student too old or too young to be able to participate in a practice with me. If moving isn't your thing then we can do breathing excercises or mediation.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently met a girl in recovery from LA. She was suffering from addiction and I began a dialogue with her giving her tips and advice to hope to help her make life easier and happy. Now we practice yoga as I teach her on zoom once a week and I have realized helping her helps bring me so much happiness I'm not sure who helps who.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would recommend asking many questions. I would request to see their certification and make sure they have insurance. I would find out if the styles of yoga they teach will align with what you need. See if they are flexible in finding ways to make sure practicing together is convenient for you and possible. I recommend asking if they are a "good vibes only" type yogi or if they are open to anyone despite how positive they may be feeling. You want an instructor you can trust to create a safe space, be punctual and who is willing to hold space and listen if you need someone to talk to.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
You should definitely make sure they are certified, have knowledge in anatomy before any hands on assist. Make sure they respect any decisions that you make regarding if you will allow hands on assist. If you have mental health, trauma or addiction issues I recommend a yoga instructor who has knowledge, interest, or her own experiences with such things. Not everyone is going to accept you where you are and it's important to ask questions before trusting someone with certain things.
