I am an artist who loves to share my skills with others. I approach all new projects with the belief that everyone is an artist and can access creativity with a little guidance. I enjoy acrylic painting, collage, mixed media, ink and lots of other creative mediums.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to focus on the creative process, and helping someone gain the confidence to explore in art. Technique for me is a biproduct of the process, and is easy to acquire. The ability to access the creative channel is more challenging and more worthwhile.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My college degree is in Interior Design, and included many fine art studio courses. My teaching experience comes from sharing my skills with others throughout my life.
For the past 8 years I have worked at a paint and sip concept that showed non-artists how to complete a painting in a 2-3 hour time period. The beauty of this is that so many people lack the confidence to try their hand at an art form. This "forced" people to jump right in and discover that art was not unreachable for them.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $50 hour for a lesson, or $75 for 2 hours. I like the two hour time frame.
I also offer a first time meet and greet free of charge where we can get to know each other, and decide if the partnership will work. I provide a small art project and supplies for this get together.
Supplies for future lessons will be purchased by the student.
How did you get started teaching?
I have shared my skills for most of my life. I have volunteered in public schools for various projects, as well as lead Girl Scout troops for many years.
My most recent teaching experience is at the paint and sip business where I have taught several classes a week over the past 8 years.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with small children all the way up to older adults. I have also worked with special needs individuals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A few years ago, and friend and I lead an event where we guided a meditation followed by an art project. The project involved taking a selfie and creating a goddess depiction from it. The group was about 10 women, ages 16-65, and was a wonderful evening of fellowship and creativity.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The connection between instructor/guide and student is important. You will want to feel comfortable and at ease with the instructor/guide.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do you want to learn a specific technique. or do you want to do a specific project?
Are you looking to gain a skill or interested in enjoyment and relaxation?
How much time do you have, and are you willing to invest in the materials needed?
