About
I have been drawing since i was 4-5 years old. it has always been my passion. I teach students the 4 steps in the process of making a drawing, from photos of the human figure.
I have been a practicing professional artist for more than 35 years. I have plied my trade in my home state of Mississsippi and Louisiana and now hre in Asheville, NC. Ihave a B.S.in art education, a Masters in art eductaion and 10 years professional art traing in drawing/painting. My awards and other accomplishments are on my website, josephart.net.
I love the process of making art. Art in all its forms is a major connecting link to our shared humanity. Art is able to communicate and connect across all boundaries.
The figure has always been my passion. It is the most complex and challenging subject one could address. Hence, artists through out history has expressed important ideas and points of view, socially and politically, through the human. Artists have trained in their craft for thousands of years by studying the human form.
