What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Always like to start with a simple discussion about what the player and family thinks that they can improve on. Then, I'd want to get some swings on video so it can be analyzed. Instruction can go from there. Can continue with mechanics and the mental side of the game as well.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a college baseball coach for 3 years, going on 4. I am currently at Elon University. I have worked with travel ball, legion, and college summer league players as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I usually would charge $30 for a half hour, and $45 for a full hour
How did you get started teaching?
Developed a passion for the sport over the course of my life. I was hired of the back of my playing career, and haven't looked back. I did coach travel ball in the summers during my playing career.
What types of students have you worked with?
Ranging from 6-10 year olds at camps, to player that you will see at schools like NC State, UNCG, UNC, and others.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Coaching in the playoffs with the High Point HiToms, going down to Savannah, and winning in front of multiple thousand people.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that they have a care for teaching and growing the game, not just about making money.
