About
Hello!
I have enjoyed learning about the history, materials, philosophy, and creation of Art all my life. After teaching k-12 Art in public schools and tutoring privately for over a decade, I created Indigo Art Studios and Indigo Art Lessons to show/sell my own work and teach others. I love being able to now completely customize each lesson to the goals and needs of my students, be it a focused goal in fine arts, learning a new hobby, or art intergrated lessons to develop new skills.
I currently teach in my home studio where students have access to a wide variety of art making tools. Students can bring their own supplies or select materials to purchase just the amount they need. This offers a great flexibility for students wanting to try new things and experiment.
I also will travel locally to my students home. Students can rent equipment for their lesson such as portable easels, and small art tools. Some items can be rented weekly for a projects such as a variety of small looms, jewelery tools, and more. There is a limited numer available at any given time.
Please take a tour of my website at indigoartlessons.com or follow me on facebook @indigoartlessons and instagram @indigoartstudios
I get to share my knowlege and enjoyment of Art with others and see my students abilities and expression grow over time. The entire process from creating lessons, teaching, and even getting paint in my hair is incredibly rewarding.

I have worked witha wide variety of students from different backgrounds, abilities, and ages. I have taugh elementary, middle, and high school classes in public schools. Privately I have tough small groups and individuals ranging from pre-school to Seniors. Everyone can benifit from art!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take a little bit of time to think about what you want out of your lessons. Is it a fun enriching activitiy, a hobby, something you want to pursue seriously? What interests you? How do you learn best, through step by step instructions or more gentle guidance through a project of your own design? Finally make sure you feel comfortable with your teacher and they make you feel welcomed and eager to learn.
