About
At F.L.Y. Basketball, we take enormous pride in teaching the fundamentals of the game and progressing our athletes to elite status. We also focus on growth on and off the court. We aid our Student Athletes in growing their resume as they advance through our programs. We add civic duty, financial literacy, etiquette and entrepreneurship just to name a few opportunities that we offer outside the game. We help build all around student athletes who are poised to move forward with the skills that it takes to become successful at whatever they chose in life.
We enjoy watching each and every athlete achieve goals that they once thought were impossible. Helping them stay positive through their growth is highly important for us. We can often feel as if we've failed when we fall short of the ultimate goal, but when you focus on your small wins that positivity carries right into larger success. Seeing athletes give themselves grace while requiring much of themselves is an amazing thing to watch. Out of this, kids continue to play the game. They gain confidence and become their very best.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before we start with new clients, a questionnaire is emailed. There are two. One for the Athelte and one for Parents. It is our intention to gauge where each individual athlete is while gaining insight for what famlies expect to gain from training with FLY. From there, we schedule an individual workout to assess the athlete’s starting point along with identifying strengths and areas of opportunity.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our founder, CoachA, is a former Collegiate full scholarship athlete with over 10 years of coaching experience. A referee of the game for over 16 years, she advanced to the high school level with a passion to change athletes perception of officials.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$30 per hour per athlete. (Rates for travel and required solo sessions vary. Please contact us for details)
How did you get started teaching?
There is a void of effective coaching with purpose and passion in youth sports overall. Often times, we see volunteers (we appreciate them) coaching and it, at times, leaves athletes under served. CoachA started FLY Basketball with this mindset ‘I am the Coach that I needed growing up’. An overall experience from fundamentals, growth in IQ and beyond is what FLY Basketball offers. A need for quality coaching and the still present void is why CoachA started FLY. Be the change you want to see!
What types of students have you worked with?
FLY Basketball has had the privilege of working with Student Athletes from the age of 3 years old to collegiate seniors. Players are welcomed and nurtured from all skill levels.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
It’s the small wins that lead to the big gains. It is our goal to change the perception of the ‘goal’. Many athletes make huge strides in listening, understanding, execution, dribbling, IQ etc. All occur and are necessary before they make the ball go through the hoop. WE CELEBRATE all wins while encouraging proper execution, effort and sportsmanship.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
As a part of our intake, we ask questions of Parents and Athletes. This helps us and families alike, to determine what are the overall desires for their Athletes.
