Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I determine if the painters is looking for a private or group setting and we choose a date and subject for painting and determine the end goal for us to work towards. Wether it is to learn to paint or to have a painting party for entertainment purposes. Then we select a date and time and I set up the payment options. (Each painter to pay individually or as a group).
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have painted and sold paintings privately for over 30 years. I started my own painting business in early 2017.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge 35.00 per painter. Each session lasts for 2-2.5 hours. I have over 300 painting designs to choose from plus board art and ceramics. So many options.
How did you get started teaching?
I started hosting craft and paint nights for friends and family years ago and had been asked many times when I was opening my own company. I decided to do that finally in early 2017. I have enjoyed every minute of it.
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly beginners.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoy each event but recently had an 11 year old that did such an awesome job it was just so exciting to see her think through the process. So AWESOME!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Relax and have fun with the experience. You cannot enjoy the journey of painting if you expect perfection from the start.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do You want out of the classes. What medium are you interested in. What type of art enjoy looking at most?
