About
Hi! Stephen Lursen here!
I'm a full time artist and instructor in Charlotte NC. I earned my MFA in painting in 2012 from Winthrop University and specialize in drawing, painting, and mixed media 2D art. I regularly work in Photoshop CC and Final Cut X and teach digital art and video editing too! Please check out my website at www.stephenlursen.com and write to me with any questions at [email protected]
I enjoy painting in bright bold colors. I hope to create art that is uplifting whether I include characters or not. I enjoy painting in numerous layers and with multiple tools/media to achieve diversity, depth, and interesting elements that draw the veiwer in close. I appreciate being able to talk about the effects of color and marks, and, how and what they communicate to your veiwer, when they look at your work.
