About
My passion is to make my customers look and feel great about their pictures and to teach my students to put the client first. By using posing and lighting techniques that flatter my customers body shape I can make them feel great about themselves and that makes them more willing to refer you as their photographer. I also really enjoy teaching students their basic technical skills to get them started using their cameras the right way and getting great results outside and in the studio.
Photography has been my passion for over 25 years. I own a studio in Belmont, NC. I specialize in Business and Corporate photography and weddings. Please look at my portfolios on my websites. www.imagesourcegroup.com and www.allureweddingphotography.com.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process for working with a new student is usually in a classroom setting but I also offer private lessons. When I have a new class scheduled I will post it on my website and on social media.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a certificate from York Technical College in photography and video production and also over 25 years of experience in owning a photography business. I have been in a retail space for 11 years in Gastonia and Belmont, NC. I have also been a member of PPNC and PPA for the last 11 years and have taken many classes and workshops during that time. I am an expert in studio lighting, outdoor lighting, posing and technical skills. I Love teaching and sharing with students what I know!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
When classes are posted online the price will be included. Private lessons are $50 an hour at my studio at this time.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching by offering classes to local students.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages and skill levels depending on the class.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently photographed a banquet for Community Blood Center of the Carolinas in Charlotte, NC. I have the priviledge of photographing many of the patients that have received blood and I get to be part of telling their story of survival. It makes my heart happy to know that I am a part of such a great group of people. Their stories are inspiring and make me grateful to be alive!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
A student who is looking for a photography teacher should look for a teacher who knows without a doubt their technical skills and has experience in shooting in different situations such as outdoor, studio, weddings, families ect.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should think about what type of photograhy they are passionate about and find a teacher who can help them learn and grow. Just remember if you don't know your technical skills yet then learn that first! Learn aperature, shutter speed and ISO and how to get the best exposure first before you jump into lighting. I cannot stress enough how important your technical skills are!
