I teach fun, beginner ukulele classes and private lessons. I teach participants how to tune, strum, and play basic chords on this fun, little instrument. It’s easy to learn so even those with no prior music experience can be successful. Participants will be playing songs right away giving them confidence in their music making abilities. I have been teaching music for 25 years and currently work in schools so I have all needed background checks. More information about classes and lessons can be found here, https://www.musicforlittleonesnc.com/public-ukulele-class.
I love sharing the joy of music with people of any age. I love teaching the ukulele because it is so easy to play and it brings me joy to see people who thought they had no musical talent playing songs and enjoying it. I believe that music making is for everyone!
My 11 year old took ukulele class from Ms Kathy as a beginner student. It was a fantastic experience from the very first lesson, as Ms Kathy has a warm, welcoming personality , and helped my son’s confidence soar. There was detailed written instructions, easy communication, and fantastic music. I highly recommend Ms Kathy.
I enrolled in a 10-week Ukulele class for beginners this spring under the teaching of Kathy Bellavia and thoroughly enjoyed the classes. Kathy was very well prepared for each lesson; providing handouts of music which was worked on in class. She played the songs over to familiarize the class with the tune and then the class worked on the tune together. She taught music theory while teaching the class several new chords during each lesson. I had been learning to play the uke prior to this class and finished the course as a more accomplished player no longer afraid to join seasoned uke players in jam sessions. I highly recommend The Music Makers and would not hesitate to take lessons again in the future.
Kathy is very patient and kind. She understands every aspect of the music she teaches and shares her knowledge effectively with her students. She relates to the student's difficulties learning a new instrument and is consistently supportive and encouraging. As an older adult learner, it was important to me to have an environment that was non-judgemental yet have the material presented in a professional manner. Lessons with Kathy were extremely rewarding and I have the confidence to play for my own enjoyment.
