DG Basketball Academy

Welcome! DG Basketball Academy specializes in basketball development for players of all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner and are just developing the love for the game of basketball or if you are an elite player that plays at the high school, college or professional level, DG Basketball Academy is the place for you. The Academy provides quality private lessons, group and team sessions, clinics, basketball camps, youth leagues and adult basketball leagues. DG Basketball Academy offers skill building sessions throughout the calendar year including in season and out of season. All skill development programs are designed for boys and girls ages 5 and older.

DG Basketball Academy was founded by former professional basketball player Danny Gathings. Coach Gathings is a Winston-Salem, NC native. Danny developed passion for the game of basketball at an early age. Playing many years of youth, middle and high school basketball propelled him to become one of the best players in the States of North Carolina. Danny has playing experience at the college level where he played at Hargrave Military Academy, Virginia Tech and High Point University. Coach Gathings has been recognized for many national awards including National Sportsman of the Year, All-American, Big South Player of the Year, 2-time Big South All-Conference Team, All-Defensive Team among many other individual awards. He has spent time playing internationally in Finland and Sweden.
