About
Andrew Hopper Jr. is a graduate of Gardner Webb University with a Bachelor's in Mass Communication. After graduating from college, Mr. Hopper served as a child abuse investigator with the local Department of Social Services. It was during that time he felt called to join the US Army earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. His Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) was Combat Engineer (12B).
During his service, Mr. Hopper was selected to attend the US Army Drill Sergeant school. After completion of training, he served his country at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC as a Drill Sergeant. During his tour he trained over 15,000 soldiers, sailors, and airmen. After nine years of service, Mr. Hopper was medically retired from the US Army.
After being honorably discharged from the Army, he attended Webster University where he earned a Master's degree in Human Resources Management. Upon returning home to his family, he served as a forensic child abuse investigator and supervisor for ten years with extensive training from the NCDOJ in child death investigations. He also served as a Domestic Violence facilitator in group work with batterers for over eight years.
His certifications include: NC CCH Certified Instructor, NRA Certified Instructor, USCCA Certified Instructor, Total Army Instructor Certification, Small Group Instructor Certification, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification.
Mr. Hopper is passionate about sharing his knowledge about the correct use of firearms as well as empowering people with the necessary knowledge to make responsible and informed choices when armed. In his spare time, Mr. Hopper enjoys doing professional photography, judging MMA and boxing matches for the NC Boxing Authority, and spending time with his family and dog.
