Derek Palmer Photography Lessons
About
I love to give clients the personal touch. Let me know how you're really feeling and have questions about.
I love capturing the moment. It amazes me that what you capture will never exist again. That's why I try to always capture the perfect moment.
Also, I love working with people. You meet all kinds of people while being a photographer. You can learn alot from each person.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I get to know my student's goals, strengths and weaknesses. We will create a practical but realistic training plan. We will execute it and refer back to it.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm self-taught photographer. I'm currently taking a Digital Photography class online for a certificate in Digital Photography. Life experiences have taught me most of what I will be teaching you.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Straight pricing. Lessons start at 25 for an hour of meeting online or in person. You will also get email support. Ask all the questions you like. I will do my best to answer them correctly.
How did you get started teaching?
I taught a few lighting and accessories lessons for a Photography Meetup group that I used to attend. Everyone enjoyed my common sense approach to each lesson.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with youth to adults. Your age or race doesn't matter to me.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoyed photographing the runway for Greensboro Fashion Week for the last 3 years.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that the teacher compliments your learning style. If you're not learning anything within the first 15 minutes, then you need to find a new teacher.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
To me there's no dumb question. Just think of how to ask your question intelligently.
