What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Meet and conduct a interview to determine their goals and expectations/outcomes and timeframes. Assess skill level and a dedication/commitment to achieving their goals. Develope a plan together to reach goals and outline required training.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Educationally:
I have a Masters of Science, Sports Management (M.S.S.M.) with a Certification in "Coaching Principles" from the American Sports Education Program (ASEP) for Coaches. Through this course coaches are taught and challenged to:
1. Define their coaching philosophy, objectives and style.
2. Coaching for character & coaching diverse athletes.
3. Coach using the games approach and become more effective teachers of technical and tactical skills.
4. Train athletes for energy and muscular.
5. Manage teams, relationships and risk.
6. Enhanced communication and motivational skills and manage athletes behavior.
Certified Personal Trainer by the World Instructors Training School (W.I.T.S.)

Based on the skill level, age, and what the athlete wants to improve, develp and timeframe. Average lesson is $25 -$50 per/hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching/coaching with the Carolina Basketball Club (CBC) and the Charlotte Youth Football League, (CYFL) and Personal Training after I received my certification from World Instructor Training Schools (W.I.T.S.).
What types of students have you worked with?
Worked with athletes from age 6-18. Elementary school, Middle School, High School.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Well with the advent of COVID-19, I have not "attended" any events personally. However, I did attend a on-line event for for training clients, "on-line" for my Personal Fitness Business.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Its not always what the teacher just knows, but how they can communicate, motivate, their philosophy about teaching, style and the rapport.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is their end goals and how soon do they want to accomplish them, as well as are they willing to dedicate the time, discipline, dedication neccessary to achieve their objectives.
