    I really enjoy taking piano lessons from Kiona. She is patient and very professional during the lessons. She is an excellent teacher who takes her time making sure you understand what is being taught. Kiona is preparing you for success by making sure you have a good foundation in theory, keynotes, and chords, all while making the class fun by learning songs you are interested in playing. Kiona is also flexible whenever you need to change the date of your lesson.

    Frequently asked questions

    I start with a free trial lesson to get to know the student and the parent at the same time. During the free trial lesson, I assess the child with multiple piano activities to see if the child has an interest in learning the piano, can focus their attention on me and follow directions and has the basic skills needed to learn beginner piano concepts.

    For adult beginners, I also start with a free trial lesson to get to know them, introduce the geography of the keyboard, and introduce note reading on the treble clef staff. 

    Through piano instruction, I strive to enhance students' sight reading skills and piano technique.

    I have been teaching piano lessons since 2013. 

    I currently hold a teaching license in Music K-12.

    I have 5 years of experience teaching Elementary General Music.

    I am currently teaching Middle School Piano and Chorus. 

    A monthly fee of $120 for 3 virtual lessons on zoom.

    I started teaching private piano lessons at Lutherville Music School in Towson, MD from 2013-2016.

    After moving to Charlotte, NC to teach Elementary General Music, I continued teaching private piano lessons from home.

    I have worked with a variety of students with all kinds of personalities and abilitiies. I have worked with students with special needs and students who are gifted and talented.
