Hi! I have a BA in Art from UNC-Wilmington, and a degree in Art education, K-12. I taught Visual Arts at the elementary level for four years, and am currently teaching at the Middle school level. I love teaching, and instilling a love of art in my students, while helping them take their art skills to the next level.
I am also a local artist, having had pieces on display at the local art museum, and Airlie Gardens. I've painted commissioned pieces ranging from large murals to small ornaments.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The process depends on their starting level. Beginners start with the basics- color theory, principles of art, and the elements of art. Composition comes next, then instruction on painting. More advanced painters will start somewhere along the timeframe of composition and painting. It also depends on what the students objectives are.
