Sandy Nelson Fine Art @Artiste Fine Art Gallery & Studio
About
We take pride in bringing the best instructors to our studio. Whether you are a seasoned artist or new to the easel, we will guide you along the way.
I teach "mentoring" which is individual guidance in a group setting (no more than 8 students). Classes are informal, fun and highly instructive. Most work in oil while some use acrylic underpainting. Many classes outside mentoring are one size fits all....which is why this approach stands out.
I LOVE watching people grow both in skill and confidence. I've been blessed with the most wonderful students imaginable and to see them succeed is the most satisfying part of teaching.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A frst time student is asked to bring a couple of their works so that I can see where to start; they are also asked to bring their supplies so we can see what else they might need. They have an option of either participating the first day or observing how the class works. We discuss their goals in painting, have a look at the facility and meet classmates.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
40+ years of being a professional artist, showing in galleries and teaching adults on the private or community college level. I was a Fine Art major in college with an area in studio painting.
