About
I'm dedicated to always learning new techniques that I can teach others. I am good at program planning so we can custom design learning to fit your desired goal.
I get energized working with others and that is what makes teaching or doing demonstrations fun.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
An initial interview to find out what their experience has been, tools and techniques used, and what goals are for our time together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Studio Art/Interior Design. I have worked in many consultative roles in which communication, goal setting, and planning were critical. I most recently studied from the book "Drawing from the right side of the brain" by Betty Edwards.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
In general, I charge a minimum of $50 per hour for private lessons. This can vary depending on travel and group rates. This price does Not include art supplies, although I may provide some items. I generally like to start with what the student already has and add as needed.
How did you get started teaching?
By teaching family members. I worked in an unrelated field for many years that required training and working closely with others on learning new software and helping them manage business requirements.
What types of students have you worked with?
I'm just getting started in private art lessons, but I will be teaching through a community college this spring.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Last year I participated in art in the park with Davidson County Extension. I enjoyed talking to the attendees as I painted with watercolor. I found it interesting that many were not familiar with watercolor pencils and how they work.
