Porter Artworks
About
Personalized classes designed to share my enthusiasm for art and depth of knowledge in a variety of paint media. Oils was my specialty but acrylic, watercolor, ink, and drawing are also areas I am fully capable of teaching on a beginner to advanced level. One on one lessons tailored to your needs.
I have been a working artist since my teens, and now at 42, am happy to pass on much that I have learned over 20+ years of creative practice. I have found the value of art as a therapeutic and fulfilling life, but most of all sharing artwork and sharing my life with other aspiring creatives has inspired me to continue to expand my passion for art.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin my process with a conversation, a brief interview to gauge the students needs, interests, level of experience, and to find out what they desire from our time together. A little bit of coaching, technical guidance, art history, specific areas of interest, etc. Once I know what my student is looking for I custom tailor or lessons to meet their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have multiple years of teaching a variety of media to ages teen-seniors. I have worked with groups and individuals in a variety of settings. I began my art education in Cheltenham, England in 1994, earned a BFA from University of Massachusetts in 2002, have continued my education taking professional workshops from multiple artists on classical drawing, art therapy, glass murrini making, and more.
